Growing up in Wyoming and Montana, Nick Sramek is no stranger to the Rocky Mountains. From the Tetons to Glacier National Park, Sramek has skied, climbed, and hiked his way through life. Sramek first began his photographic career when he picked up a 35mm film camera and a roll of Kodak TMAX 400 to document his backcountry ski adventures. Since then, Sramek has expanded to various film formats, digital photography, and fine art printmaking.
In addition to being a skier and photographer, Sramek is highly interested in natural ecosystems, and exploring the interconnectivity of mountain environments with lowland ecosystems. Taking a human-powered approach to outdoor adventures allows him to deeply immerse in these environments, photographing often-overlooked landscapes and subjects.
Sramek specializes in planning photographic shoots in harsh environments, with safety and group communication being of the utmost importance to him. Sramek has completed his AIARE Level 1, 2, and Avalanche Rescue courses, in addition to earning his Wilderness First Responder certification.
